We were approached recently for a Professional Clearance

In order to Qualify as an ACCA Member there are some requirements

  • Pass 13 exams (Exemptions may apply) ✅
  • 3 years practical experience ☑️
  • Being signed off by another Qualified Accountant ✔️

Once a person becomes a member they can use

  • ACCA letter after their name ☑️
  • FCCA letter (Automated after being Qualified for 5 years) ✅
  • CPD requirements standard route 19 hours non verifiable and 21 hours verifiable ✔️

However, to practise as an Accountant to run your own firm

A Practising Certificate (PC) is required

https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/member/practising-certificates-and-licences/do-i-need-a-practising-certificate-.html

  • 2 Years Post Qualification experience ☑️
  • Sign off by another Practice owner ✅

Without this a member

  • Cannot promote their practice ❌
  • Carry out the work ❎
  • Attach accountants certificate ❌
  • Charge for the work ❎

Violating of the ACCA rules will result in the worst case scenario of being banned from the ACCA Membership

As per the Professional Clearance received, we did respond but we warned that the firm is registered with the ACCA who holds a “PC”

The general public is protected more if they are aware that a Regulated/Qualified Accountant is acting on their behalf
